How to get your Group Policy Editor working again

#1 Post by MikalE » Thu Nov 03, 2016 2:01 pm

I just performed this procedure for Windows 10 Home and it works exactly as described.

You will have to scroll down and complete the installation of the batch file as directed, and you will have to scroll farther for an explanation of how to enable elevated Admin rights for these system32 files to add the batch files if you are not familiar with doing this.

It's not as complicated as my writing would indicate. Just read the whole page and have a second computer that you can refer to while performing this.

Is this old news or does no one use the GPE anymore?

Wow, many thanks for your sharing, much appreciated and very useful!

Yes, we use gpedit for our host of Win7 Home computers.

These same computers have a "free" Win10 upgrade path in the year 2020, so yes, your gpedit tip for Win10 is very useful!

Thanks again ;)
