I've a t440p and it's been a week since my trackpad / touchpad and trackpoint has stopped working.
I'm very very sure it is not an hardware problem because i've tested both with a live and installed version of ubuntu, the bios settings is on both "on".
The issue is very likely to be driver related, because i've managed to get the touchpad (not the trackpoint) work doing some random install and uninstall of the driver i picked up here: http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/uu/en/produ ... s/DS103454
I've tried both the windows 8.1 64bit and windows 10 64 bit versions of the driver.
This is what i see in the mouse settings, under the tab "Thinkpad" http://i.imgur.com/JEGrQ8Y.png
This is what i see in the device manager details: http://i.imgur.com/zqQzcl5.png
This is what i see if i try to update the drivers (in order to let you see the versions of my drivers): http://i.imgur.com/kBDw5EW.png
Also, this: This night i reinstalled windows 10, i really needed to get rid of this problem. I used the windows.old method.
The strange thing is that on previous installs, the touchpad and trackpoint worked even without drivers, at first boot. Now they didn't.
