Yet another slimy trick from Micro$haft: don't install anything but Edge browser...
In latest Windows test builds, Microsoft discourages alternate browsers

Why does this sound so similar to Microsoft's shady tactics in the late 90's with IE.

Some companies never learn.
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Apparrently it was a WX "insiders build preview only" Experiment to gauge response to it.

Can not say as I am surprised by Micro$haft to be honest as things have steadily become worse and worse with more and more "Call home" telemetry with every new build/update and lets not forget the governement backdoors either!

Oh, no, they do learn. From each other, all the time. Google learned these nasty tricks from Microsoft, and now Microsoft is re-learning them from Google.

Isn't it on the "S" mode only? I no longer believe any IT journalist because most of their Windows 10 articles are crap.

It is partially true because nothing can be worse than an ad malware from Google.

Neither do I, but in this case even they clearly stated that it was just a test feature for the Insider channel; none of it ever made it to any mainstream release channel (and given the feedback, unlikely that it will).

Win10 has always complained big time if you change whatever program assocations from whatever was stock out of the box.

Even changing something to Foxit etc. has it complaining.

On a new laptop, I just installed Win7 and now use Opera and Firefox. I didnt install Chrome since there's no need.

CHrome and IE and Edge... dont use them if you dont have to.
