Creating a bootable drive

#1 Post by Turbo_set » Wed Mar 06, 2019 10:45 pm

I lost my USB stick.

Can I use a Clickfree backup drive as a bootable drive? What if it has a lot of backup data on it? Do I need to format it?

Does the bootable image need to be burned or can I just copy the file to it?

Not a good idea. At a minimum you'll have to format it to make it bootable. A 8 to 16 GB USB 2 pendrive is $5-$10, just pick up one of those.

Yes, it's possible. You don't need to "burn" anything (it's a flash, not a DVD) but you will need to repartition the drive. Walmart has some Hello Kitty 8GB flash drives for approx. $6.
Thinkpads I still have: p53s x1c4 t450s x230 x220 x61s x21 770
