W10 x86 LTSC installation on X60s

Hi All,

Is there a known way of installing W10 x86 LTSC (ideally v1809) on IBM ThinkPad X60s? No matter what I try it gets stuck at the very early stage with a logo alone displayed w/o the spinning dots.

Tried a USB stick prepared using various tools (Rufus, UUI, diskpart) with MBR and FAT32/NTFS.
Also tried installing the same image via the network (PXE) - ending at the very same stage (visually at least).
Image checksum is fine.

Note: I do get past that stage with a USB stick prepared using Media Creation Tool, however it won't even ask which version I want to install (afaik it doesn't support LTSC anyway).

Use the W10 USB creation tool and try again. It's the dedicated one from MS and IMO the only one you should use.

EDIT: I guess that's what the Media Creation tool is called. Also check in the BIOS compatibility vs. AHCI mode.

It actually proceeds just fine from a USB stick prepared by the Media Creation Tool (sorry I didn't mention it at once), however I understand there's no way to force the tool to install LTSC. It won't even care to ask which particular version I want.

Also check in the BIOS compatibility vs. AHCI mode.

Tried both, no luck. Also tried disabling several devices in BIOS such as WiFi card, Bluetooth, even wired/Ethernet and still no luck.

I swear the last time I used MCT, I believe it allowed me to select a ISO file, no?

When I started MCT it asked whether I want to burn it onto the USB stick or just download an iso warning that in the latter case I'd have to burn it myself. I chose the former option and it never asked me to select a desired version - it just downloaded and burned something that got me past the logo stage to the country/language selection page, which is where I stopped knowing I don't want anything but LTSC (googling told me LTSC cannot be installed using MCT).

Meanwhile this one seems to answer it all precisely - apparently my CPU support was silently dropped from v1809:

Core Duo L2400 1.66GHz (Yonah) and i945GM with GMA950 graphics is exactly what we have in X60s, thereby matching officially stated W10 HW requirements.

Just tried v1607 and it has no such problem.
