There's a lot more wrong with this update than just that problem.

Thanks for posting that info. I had recently updated my T490 to Version 2004 but these latest updates hadn't been downloaded yet. That gave me time yesterday to check the Enhanced Windows Biometric Security option in the BIOS. It was already set to OFF. Still, I've paused updates to give me time to make sure I've got everything else with Version 2004 straightened out. After a few hiccups immediately following install, the new version seems to running okay.

I'm having an internet access problem when waking from sleep. I have to re-boot the machine for it to connect. There was a fix published in that link above, but upon downloading the KB it errored out saying this update wasn't for my machine. ???

Drivers are all up to date. This OS is trash.

The problem is that the OS keeps updating requirements for various drivers, including networking. Usually to meet the performance/power/responsiveness guarantees given to the users. Hardware vendors don't always keep up and especially frequently don't feel like updating drivers for older hardware.

Microsoft sometimes puts upgrade blocks when they detect a certain driver will break OS functionality, but they don't catch anything. It is made more difficult by the rolling upgrade nature of Win10 milestone builds. Previously, if you had a machine that worked well with, say, Windows 7, but not so much with Win8/10, you could just not upgrade. With Win10, you can be upgraded forcefully or accidentally.

I just maintain one machine with W10 for my girlfriend, all other machines are smoothly running Debian. It is shocking how hot and loud the W10 machine is running. It is like a jumbo jet continuously going in overdrive. I do not understand why people still want to stay on windows. It is a complete nightmare compared to linux.

I never really liked "Bliss" that much. When I didn't feel like a custom wallpaper, I used "Ascent" or "Azul", sometimes "Crystal".
