Hi,
I downloaded the ISO-installer from Microsoft to reinstall Win-10. I installed it, and it ran blazing fast. I was happy. I have been using it for a week. And I notice now, it is running slightly hotter than the previous version of Win-10. Right now, I only have Edge running with 1 tab (writing this message), and wifi enabled...nothing else open...and the left palm rest feels warm.
The previous version of Win-10 was installed this way: (1) I installed Win-7 with DVD recovery disks, and then (2) I used the W-7 "Update" to install Win-10.
This previous ran just fine, and I ran much cooler. I never recalled feeling any warm palm-rest from this version of Win-10.
It is possible that this ISO-installed version of Win-10 missing some kind of Lenovo-specific temperature control?
Btw, I have done all the updates, even the optional ones.
Any idea how I can make this version run as cool as the Win-7/10 version?

Re: Hotter after ISO Win-10 installation
If you upgraded to 10 from 7 using the factory recovery media, chances are the default Lenovo power profile was more conservative than the one MS defines by default in their generic Windows installer.
Lenovo usually sets the CPU control to "adaptive" where it clocks down unless it's being worked hard.
You might be able to go into the Windows 10 settings (or in Lenovo Vantage) to confirm if you're set to maximum performance or balanced etc. and make changes to see if you can mimic the results you seek.
Something else to consider is which Windows 10 build you're on. For example, 1909 might do power management differently than 21H2.

Ok. I just installed Lenovo Vantage from the MS Store. I think it is helping with the temperature.
The Lenovo Vantage also installed Intel Management Engine 9.1 Firmware.
