[28JUN2015] Survey phase coming soon
David Hill has replied to his blog article. It appears to be that the article was a huge success and exceeded all expectations.
David Hill claims that they are debating all the ThinkPad features seen in the comments, and that he is happy to see these same features are debated as well in the comments. This basically means the ThinkPad retro project is on the right track.
However instead of analyzing over 2000 comments, David Hill will be writing a survey where you can give all your input, so he can design the perfect retro ThinkPad.
While some people do not really care about the multi-color logo it is uncertain if we will see it in the final product. What would you prefer? The current silver ThinkPad logo or the new multi-color logo from the blog article?
Another feature not mentioned in the blog article was internet backward and forward keys, this is a much requested feature by the community. But the truth is that you can also use your backspace key to go back a page.

Felix, I just figured that out in Internet Explorer when I was looking for it.
When I click a link, I usually middle-click it so it opens in a separate tab, so I don't have to navigate back and forward. Works really well when multi-tasking, or do I have to say multi-surfing .

Most people seem to dislike the colored ThinkPad logo. Personally, I quite like it. It just provides that certain daring design accent I've always been missing on ThinkPads.

Nothing against them using the 'old' IBM colors, but do they really have to come up with something so garish?
What about this for inspiration?

IRT the colorful ThinkPad logo.. I would like it more if the colors were satin or flat.. muted.. no need for shiny.. the LED dot is sufficient..

But I read some comments where people wanted to see the red LED gone as well in the retro ThinkPad. Honestly I can't understand why.

I think it's garish and tacky.600X wrote:Most people seem to dislike the colored ThinkPad logo. Personally, I quite like it. It just provides that certain daring design accent I've always been missing on ThinkPads.

the multicolor thinkpad logo should be the same dimensions as prior versions and therefore easily replaced. that's about the only feature i don't like so far. what's shown above looks like an RGB carnival tent.
