intel 665p nvme drive?

#1 Post by gauthier » Thu Jan 14, 2021 2:05 pm

I've got a intel 665p drive for my T25, but I'm unable to get it detected, and before I tweaked some bios settings to enable legacy USB boot for my install medium, it shown "error 20xx" about main drive error.

The drive is new so I doubt it has a problem and think it is related to the thinkpad itself, albeit I can't test on anyother machine.

Any idea what could be the issue or if that's not supposed to work?

Well - the first question is - does the old drive work? Is it completely dead and you are unable to test?

If you haven't already try reseating the drive.

dr_st, Brad, thanks for your replies.

In the end, it seems the error was due to flimsy seating in the small caddy, despite the original drive never gave me that error, it took me a lot of trials to eventually get the new drive working.

By a strange turn of events, the original drive got a boot issue I couldn't recover after installing couple of drivers for my lenovo thunderbolt docking station (blame on me for not having space and a windows recovery point to restore from).

I was planning to do the upgrade with the intel drive I purchased at some point, so my original system getting wasted kind of rushed me into it.

I'm now waiting for the RAM modules to be delivered to complete the upgrade and close the laptop, it will be good to go for another 4 years :)
