25 Years of ThinkPad by David Churbuck

#1 Post by shawross » Thu Nov 16, 2017 8:42 pm

An interesting review of the T25 in which David Churbuck writes a positive review without being overawed. He correctly states it has some "Retro" touches but it is just a Laptop.

Yes interesting because he worked with David Hill so he obviously new him well. Some of his comments allude to what happened behind the scenes.
David Churbank wrote:I shared his frustration when some of his team’s greatest concepts were shot down by the product marketing teams when costs needed to be cut to keep the machine competitive
This may point to what happened to the 16:10 ratio T25.

David Hill from the comments section wrote:Sadly, most marketers are preoccupied with the search for “new and improved”. My opinion has always been that better beats new all day long.
Can't we all agree on that and Lenovo will still make great Thinkpads if they keep listening to David Hill.

I like that the new P52s has a webcam cover. However while they say it is thinner than the P51s, it looks the same from the pictures...
