WinXP 64bit on t61p plus access connection and power manager
WinXP 64bit on t61p plus access connection and power manager
Hello,
short story:
i have t61p with lcd 1920x1200 and I buy w7 pro
but this system kill my eyes (smooth font +clear type) resolution is too high, font are too small and after few hour working i don't see anything. of course i can disable it by regedit but some software have problems with this (after replace regular w7 with ms sans serif)
on win xp every is clear. Because i need 4gb ram i make decision - buy used xp 64 bit. Now its no problem to find and install all driver and all work great. almost becouse presentation director have some problems, access connection 5.12 don't start (i don't like new idiotic layout) and power manager 1.48 too dont work
i found info about AC 5.12 for vista 64 bit. but i cant find it net - all link on ibm.com and files dont exist
power manager 1.4 is too exist fot vista 64
maybe someone have this files? generaly they should be on disc when main system is vista 64 in t61p
ofcoures everyone can use ms orca sdk and modify msi files to allow instalation on xp 64 bit (similar to vista)
or maybe someone have solution to install any access connections and power manager xp
cheers

Have you looked at this page for your drivers?
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/researc ... D=HT063248
Not sure if I would install Vista drivers on an XP machine. Mould be more problematic than productive.

XP 64bit is very poorly supported in terms of drivers. It is quite possible that nothing you do will make XP 64bit work right for you.
If you don't like ClearType, you can turn it off in Windows 7 by choosing the "Windows Classic" theme, and turning off font smoothing in System Properties - Advanced - Performance.

after use "calssic" fonts on task bar is change to tahoma 8!
its give me new idea - hack aero and force w7 to use tahoma 8 as main font like in w xp
I think it is the best move and i tray concentrate on this
cheers

I found solution (cracked aero msstyles) plus univeersal theme patcher. Now screen is sharp and clear
