Resources/Processes

how many processes do you have running? when i click ctrl-alt-del, it says i have 66 processes running! isn't that alot? is there anyway i can cut that down? most of the stuff that's running is IBMs...

Mine's even worse...i have 91 processes running. :?

I have 85 processes running. I would love to be able to reduce this number too.

I encountered a problem running software from Rhapsody music service. The first thing they asked me was how many processes were running. When I told them, they laughed and said "There's your problem". They could not solve the problem, so I simply cancelled my subscription to Rhapsody. :cry:

study, implement recommendations at backviper.com .....

I've been very sloppy lately, but STILL have only 48 processes running after a major trim several months ago. And I run complex apps on my laptop almost constantly in/out of multiple wired/wireless lans....

I did look at his recommendations, but haven't spent enough time studying them to make any changes. :oops:

It's a good amount of work to do, but well worth it. You learn a LOT about your system, and in the end you run much faster and cleaner.
