T42 display background

#1 Post by think9 » Sun Jun 05, 2005 5:04 am

The Desktop Background is a Worldmap with time zones mark vertically -- it is the default Background, at least for the new T42.

The problem is that the Worldmap doesn't cover the whole screen. The top 1" across the LCD is black (like in DOS). Is that the way way it is? If not, how can I fix it? [IBM tech support is useless.]

[I tried the other backgrounds; and it covers the entire screen.]

TIA

The background is just an image, if you want to change it, go track down that image on your hard drive and edit it. You could enlarge the area apart from the black bar and it would fill your whole screen. I think they are in your system folder, not sure though because I deleted mine a while ago.

you could just edit the image with MS paint and delete the black bar and stretch the "map" area. The images are in the Windows folder, called "1280 x 1024 IBM Americas Map.bmp", "1400 x 1050 IBM Americas Map.bmp", etc.
