I know I know fresh install... but it all looks so daunting... ;) well not really I'm just lazy! What things preloaded on my new t43p (G2U) need not be on there??

Sounds like a necessary adjustment to make when you get the thing. Good thing I have another XP SP2 disk lying around.

It is fine the way it is. Just tune each application (no auto updates, don't run in the system tray, etc). I use the preload and it works as well and as fast as any system I built from a Windows XP CD. ... JD Hurst

Fewer processes would be nice though. 45 at max. I generally like to run fewer on my laptop than on my Desktop, and my desktop is at 48 right now.
