Hi
I am in RI and trying to help fix a 770 in DC. It has win2K on it.
Some keys have stopped working. I suggested an external keyboard
as an emergency temporary solution. We have one now.
It is USB and needs a driver installed. (It can also be used as ps/2.)
But the delete key doesn't work so we can't get to the
logon screen. (The OS is set to require ^-alt-del to get the
logon window to appear.)
And the F8 key doesn't work so we can't get into safe mode.
And there is no rescue disk to be found.
Is there a way to get to a screen that will accept commands?
And is the external keyboard a workable solution anyway?
(I will put another 770 from my collection into the mail tomorrow
but that's tomorrow.)
Rather frantically, but hopefully,
Chuck
logon with neither F8 nor del ??
