IBM Client Security Chip Help
Hey guys, I'm wondering if there is a way to reset the Client Secutiy Password without sending the thinkpad into IBM? I can't remember the password nor can I remember ever setting one up in the first place. I tried unistalling it, but that's a no go without the password/passphrase. On one of the prompts I received, I was told to go into BIOS and clear the security chip if I had forgotten the password. But when in BIOS I can't find anything under security that deals with clearing the chip. I know the extra security isnt needed and that I could live without fixing this problem, but it realy bothers me, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dan

Thanks for the help guys! I had called IBM Technical support in Atlanta, GA before I posted my problem on here, and was told I was impossible to fix without sending my thinkpad in. I knew that was crap because of the prompt I had received telling me to clear the chip in BIOS. Anyways, I knew something was up when he started taking my information(name, address, etc.) and couldn't keep up with me, and I was giving him my information very slowly. His typing skills were nonexisent(sp?). I'm not going to let one individual ruin my view on IBM or Lenova or whoever they are now, but if you ever have to call Support in Atlanta at 3am, be aware of this individual! He's an African American(not being racist), so that you'll know who I'm talking about. Well I'm off to learn some more about the security chip and what it can do.
Thanks Again,
Dan
