does Rescue & Restore include pre-installed MS Office?

Hi there.. thank you all for creating such a vibrant, valuable forum! It's been a really useful resource.

Quick question: I've ordered a new T42 from Lenovo, with MS Office pre-installed. Will the IBM Rescue & Restore utilities include this MS Office software in its disk image?

I'm ordering a separate new 80Gb hard drive from NewEgg and I'd like to install that as the primary HDD, so I plan to use Rescue & Restore to make the recovery CDs, then use those on the 80Gb drive. I'd love to hear that MS Office will be migrated with the HDD image...

Never had a recovery disc include Office...so I doubt it. Why don't you use an imaging software to clone your HDD over to the new one, then you won't have to use the recovery disc and you'll get everything. Do a search here and you'll find info on which software is best and how to do it.

MS Office won't be part of the recovery CDs, but you should receive Office CDs in the box.

As far as I am aware no ThinkPad would come preload with Office - some came with CDs but never actually on your system so it maybe possible that your copy was added by an intermediate and not Lenovo.

Would definately not be part of disk2disk or CD recovery.

Well I've now received my T42 from Lenovo (via EPP), and yes, Office was pre-loaded on the system. However the product recovery disks did not include Office; there were separate Office CDs sent to me with the system.
