Silencing Thinkpad's fan

#1 Post by Matri[X] » Wed Jul 06, 2005 11:22 am

Currenty, my X41's fan kicks in at about 49 degress, which is too soon if you ask me as it disturbs me a lot. Could this be somehow changed with a program or sth.?

You could try
http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

but I've had no experience with it.

You should be able to control CPU level through the battery maximizer.

I find that the fan, even at its full setting on my T43p is very quiet. No mechanical whine like most laptops I've used.

I've already tried Speedfan and it doesn't work. It just displays temperatures. It's the same with Centrino Hardware Control software.
