Hi,

There's some sort of IBM utility in my startup items, but I have not found it mentioned in any previous thread. It is called "BLOG" and it is located in
c:\program files\thinkpad\utilities\batlogex.dll

Does anybody have any clue what this does and if it is necessary? Thanks!
I got my first PC - an IBM ThinkPad T43 (2687-DVU)!

Just guessing, but it probably means Battery Log. It probably keeps a log of battery conditions, when it was charging, when it was discharging etc.

This might be where the PowerManager records the "maintenance" on batteries -- when you do a full discharge/charge cycle and it records the actual capacity versus the design capacity.
