Fail to copy many file in a Repair run of XP Pro

#1 Post by chermesh » Tue Aug 02, 2005 1:53 am

Hi,
My XP Pro on a Thinkpas T42 experience problems with MDAC. I tried to reinstall MDAC, but the required version, the XP SP2, failed to install. Therefore, I decided to run an XP repair setup installation.
The installation created a working pc, but quite a few files failed to be copied. (See list below).
What are the functional implications of the missing files?
What can I do to solve the problem? (I tried a second repair installation, but it reached identical results).

I believe most of these files are related to the Internet Connection Wizard. They seem to be files used for setting up or using an internet connection. These files might also be used for setting up a connection to MSN.

If you can still launch the Internet Connection Wizard, and can still connect to the internet, you are probably OK.
