Cool screensaver runs slow on TP

#1 Post by tbu3 » Sun Aug 14, 2005 6:12 pm

I got a cool screensaver that runs great on my desktop but is annoyingly sluggish in my R51 (2887-58H). The screensaver can be found here: http://skynet.maddogsw.com/flurry/

Is says it runs under any version of Windows with OpenGL support. Is the slow performance caused by the Intel vid card and is there a fix for this?

Hey thanks for the screen saver!

Most likely the integrated video is having problems chugging through the OpenGL code, I've come across other screen savers before that were real pigs, even on decent standalone video cards.

Ain't there any tweak for the video card for this? I really love that saver. It matches my FlyAKite mac conversion skin. Check that one too" http://osx.portraitofakite.com/ The saver is also included there.

I'm at a loss as to why you're running any screensaver at all on an R51!

Your backlight will last a lot longer if you simply set the display to turn off after a period of no use.

Screensavers serve no useful purpose on an LCD other than eye candy.
