Freeing up Disk Space

#1 Post by teamdaddy » Sat Aug 27, 2005 11:45 pm

I've got a T-23 that I'm trying to free up some disk space on. Can someone tell me if it is safe to delete the temporary files within the windows folder. One temporary file has close to 500 MB of miscellaneous stuff that I can't even really tell what it is. A friend of mine says it is safe to delete temporary files in order to free up space, but he is no expert and I'm sure not going to do it based solely on his recommendation. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I use Internet Explorer to delete temporary files (because it creates them), and in the IE Tools -> Options, you can set maximum temporary file space. I set mine for 80MB and then use Cache Sentry to keep it under control. Seems to work. Google for Cache Sentry. ... JD Hurst

If you want to clean up a bunch of non-necessary files, this freeware program works really good.

Thank you all for the help and tips. I downloaded the "Clean Up" program and ran it. That seems to have done the trick. Thanks again for your help.
