HELP - system file restore

#1 Post by dcornejo » Tue Aug 30, 2005 1:00 am

Hi All,

I posted this on the R-Series board, but got no responses. Please read below.

I need your help. Initially I partitioned my drive to include the system file restore. I no longer want the system file restore capability and I believe I deleted it, but I can't get back the disk space it claimed.

Is there a way to repartition the drives so that I can grab that disk space?

Any suggestions?

I have an R40 and am running out of hard drive space.

Thanks,
D

Go to: Start > Control Panel > System > System Resore tab. From there you can set the amount of disk space allocated to System Restore, and also turn off System Restore.

GomJabber,

Thanks for responding. I tried that already. I still am not able to use the original amount of hard drive space that was partitioned (about 20 GB).

Any other thoughts?

Much appreciated,
D

The R40 models still have bios protected HPA so you cannot delete it accidentely. You need to change the bios settings.

What is SOCKS proxy server?
SOCKS is a networking proxy protocol that enables hosts on one side of a SOCKS server to gain full access to hosts on the other side of the SOCKS server without requiring direct IP-reachability. SOCKS is often used as a network firewall, redirecting connection requests from hosts on opposite sides of a SOCKS server. The SOCKS server authenticates and authorizes requests, establishes a proxy connection, and relays data between hosts.
