How to Explain Faults of Norton Systemworks

#1 Post by t41user » Sat Sep 03, 2005 1:37 pm

A friend of mine recently purchased Norton Systemworks. I failed to convince him not to go near the thing. What are the best ways to explain why not to use it? What are the best reasons not to go near the thing?

don't know. I have SystemWorks 2002, and combined with AV 2004 I've had absolutely no problems with it.

I use Norton System Works. I like it alright except for their recycle bin - I forget what it's called. I don't have it installed, as I had problems with it. I also never installed GoBack. I heard some things about it, but never tried it myself.

I do like WinDoctor. It fixed some registry problems for me several times. I set it up to run manually, rather than have it run at scheduled times. Same with every other feature. I also haven't tried Clean Sweep. I use Webroot Disk Washer instead (although it doesn't do program uninstalls).

Hey, if more people could say positive things about Norton Systemworks, I'd be happy for my friend's recent purchase of it. However, I've heard so many people on this forum slam other Norton products such as their AntiVirus utility, I assumed something similar about systemworks. Also, I've always been suspicious of utilities that seem as complicatedly integrated to the OS as systemworks. But I'd be happy if people were to correct me on this matter.
