I've recently tried to update my rescue and recovery software from the latest version in the 2.x branch to the new 3.0 version VIA SOFTWARE INSTALLER.
The software installer showed me the available 240MB package so i've D\L it and as soon as the D\L procedure was over the installation process began.
Somewhere in the beginning of the process i marked i was UPGRADING an existing software so the installation program deleted my previous version (i think - no longer in add/remove programs) and began the installation of the new one.
Everything went fine until the installation reached the "Writing system registry values" phase where it gave me the following error:
Code: Select all
Error 1402. Could not open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Msxml2.DOMDocument.4.0\CLSID.
Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact support personnel.I've rebooted my PC and tried all over again (via software installer) but got the same results - the installation process won't complete... (This time i didn't have any choice of upgrading etc.).
Some details:
- IBM R40 (2723-EG4, if it matters...)
- Windows XP Pro. SP2, fully updated.
- All IBM drivers fully updated (minus access connection and system migration assistant).
- On the installation process, i choose NOT to install the optional client security solution, just the rescue and recovery feature.
Thanks alot in advance, Adam.
