Windows hardware profiles question

When setting up hardware profiles in Windows (System/hardware/hardware profiles/properties), the option to check or uncheck whether the computer is docked or not is grayed out for my T43 at all times, whether docked or not. Anyone know why this is and how to enable these settings in the profile manager?
