Tphotkey.exe

#1 Post by pipspeak » Wed Sep 21, 2005 3:36 pm

A quick question about htis process... what exactly does it do?

I have already uninstalled the TP Keyboard Customizer utility, so I assume Tphotkey.exe is simply the process that enables the blue Access IBM button etc. to keep working. Is that correct?

no,
you need to install IBM Access software to enable the IBM Blue button works.

OK, so anyone know what exactly the Tphotkey.exe process does if it's not related to the blue button or keyboard customizer?

screen magnifier, on screen volumn display control, function keys to let hibernation, stand by and etc work.

I did a search on my T42 for the above file, and I did not find it (I have virtually all the IBM software installed except for the security software). I thought is was probably for the ThinkPad Hot Keys features, which include: On Screen Display, Easy Launch Buttons III, FullScreen Magnifier, and Web navigation keys agent. But since I have this installed and did not find the file, I guess it's for something else.

I suggest you do a search for the file Tphotkey.exe. When you find it, right click on the file and choose 'Properties'. Likely, the purpose of the file will be displayed under 'Description'.
