OSD has become huge

#1 Post by Hrez » Wed Sep 21, 2005 4:44 pm

i went to change the color of the Thinkpad OSD a few days ago, and for no reason, the OSD became gigantic, as can be seen in the picture below. The setting for it is still on small, yet it is this large (if i put it on large it doesnt even fit completely on the screen). I've also uninstalled and reinstalled it with a newer version, yet that didnt fix it. what has happened here, and how can i make it smaller again?

Maybe uninstall and reinstall the video driver?

I found the solution. Right click on an open area of the desktop and choose: Properties > Settings > Advanced > On Screen Display, and under Size choose 'Small', click on Apply then OK.

no, thats not it. i said in my first post that i've tried changing the setting for the size in the options for the OSD. this IS the smallest setting. if i put it on the largest setting, it becomes 3 times as large as it is in the picture.

Sorry, I'm kind of running out of ideas. It's probably a registry setting somewhere. I imagine you are running Native Resolution for your display (ie. 1024 x 768 for XGA)? Is screen expansion turned on?

You could try System Restore. Or a fresh install. Or maybe someone else has some better ideas.
