"ThinkVantage" Software

#1 Post by andyli » Wed Sep 21, 2005 5:54 pm

Lenovo released a new version of Access Connections. Other than adding support for 1 or 2 more wireless cards, it seems like they are re-releasing all of their software, renaming "IBM" to "ThinkVantage".

However, I saw nothing different with this upgrade.

3.71 worked fine for me (I use IBM wireless) and since the wireless driver didn't change, I gambled on not uninstalling Access Connections and installing 3.81 right over top. Worked fine. All the profiles work and the upgrade was a smooth as silk (fingers crossed) ... JD Hurst

Anyone know if this update solves the problem some cards have with connecting to some WEP enabled Linksys WAPs?

I can check and report back next time I'm in the office.

There was some sort of security patch in 3.81 too. But yeah.. renaming from IBM titles seems to be an increasing trend.

This is exactly the problem I am having I connect to my WRT54G fine but it never gets through the authentication stage. Works fine with the windows software, I've been using that and the latest intel driver (not ibm). Maybe I will take the plunge and try this out.

FWIW, I downloaded it all on my T41 and installed it, and all of it appears to be working fine. ... JD Hurst
