#1 Post by kaplanfx » Wed Sep 21, 2005 8:58 pm

There is a new version of patjes mobility mod (ver 3) out for anyone who uses it. Haven't tried myself but it looks like a significant redesign. find it at http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/

Lets you install the regular catalyst drivers on mobility chipsets

Dunno what advantages that gives you though.

Does not work correctly for the FireGL T2 card builtin the T41/42p series. OpenGL does not work anymore when using the modded driver.

BUT ATI posted the all new mobility Catalyst 5.9 which works with most mobility Cards > 9600 (FireGL T2 is also supported and works). Don' t get confused when using ATI' s "supported system tool", it will fail but the driver works. Just get it from www.driverheaven.net and not from ATI.com

">" means higher so 9600 and FireGL T2 ARE supported. Anything below is not supported.

Technically a>b means everything higher than b and not equal to b, so >= 9600 should be correct :)

Regarding the drivers, I'm not quite sure which to install, did they only change the .inf files or added/removed some features from the Mobility Catalyst drivers?

I had this problem all the time in my T43p with the patje and omega driver mods. But the new patje with the 5.9s seem to play fair with my FireGL V3200.,
X31, T43p (on sale soon I think :( ), T400
