What is "sgtray"

#1 Post by teamdaddy » Fri Oct 21, 2005 11:29 pm

I use AVG virus protection and have just finished downloading the latest updates. I had to reboot the computer to complete the download, and when I tried to do this I got this message that a program is still running and do I want to end the program. I assume the program is "sgtray" because that is what pops up when I click on "end now". This just started after I downloaded the AVG updates, and I noticed it did it again a little later when I downloaded some windows updates. Anyone got any ideas what this is and how to keep it from popping up every time I reboot? Thanks

I may have found the problem. I understand from doing a little digging that this little problem shows up quite frequently with Windows. The sgtray is a Veritas program and is installed as part of the Sonic Record Now software. I uninstalled the Record Now update manager and the problem seems to have gone away. Thanks anyway.
