T42 shut down problem

#1 Post by GZheng12 » Wed Nov 23, 2005 12:06 pm

Did anyone experience non-responding problem SMAX4pnp.exe when you try to shut down your Thinkpad? I think it is software related. I did lots of research and could not find the solution.

It's annoying that everytime I shut down my T42, the pop-up message prevent the shut down process, asking me to manually close the program. Help for fix!
Regards,

I've disabled all SoundMax software running on startup.

I am not sure exactly why you get this message, however you can try the following: download UPHClean from microsoft.com, and it will shutdown programs that give you problems when you shutdown the computer.
