Why doesn't Software Installer offer new Access Connections?

Access Connections 4.0 has been out there for some time now, but the Software Installer still doesn't offer it, and the driver matrix for my R51 still shows 3.81 as the latest. Only by going to the 3.81 download page do I see the note "*New* Download Access Connections version 4.0 (English only)".

Is it being held because of the "English only" bit, or are they just waiting to see how the early adopters fare?

Anyway, 3.81 seems to work just fine for me, so I'm in no hurry.

Have you read the README on it? Some of these "updates" really only contain fixes which apply to newer Thinkpads. Perhaps your model is doing just fine with 3.81.

Of course, if you really really really must have it, why not just go to www.lenovo.com and download it?

I just checked, and Access Connections 4.0 is not in the driver matrix page for the T43/p or Z60t/m either. These are the newest ThinkPads, so perhaps they are waiting until other language versions are available before they put it on the driver matrix page. Another possibility is the the 4.0 users are sort of beta testers.
