Hey so I updated my T43 with only about 4 windows updates. The windows genuine advantage validation tool, , GDi detection, cumulative update for XP, and windows malicious. Restarted fine. Then Hibernated. Failed to restart.
It started windows. but it stayed at the dark screen with the bars at the bottom. so held down the power button restarted. It said restart failed at this point last time would you like to retry or delete restoration data and go to system boot menu. I retried same thing happened then I deleted restoration. It did scan disk. And Here I am now. About to turn it off again wish me luck.
If no help can you guys at least tell me what is meant when it say delete restoration data. Does that just mean my restoration points are gone or was more deleted?

I think what is meant by "delete restoration data" is the deleting of the file hiberfil.sys. This is the file that contains your hibernation data from when the laptop went into hibernation. The only downside I see to deleting this file is if you had an unsaved document open when you went into hibernation. Otherwise, all you have to do is open the apps and pages that were open when you went into hibernation, to get to the previous desktop.
Deleting hiberfil.sys should not affect future hibernations, as the file is recreated at the time of hibernation.
