Did I mess up?

#1 Post by thecrumb » Wed Jan 04, 2006 10:10 pm

Got a new Thinkpad z60m right before I left for the holidays - took it with me and tried to partition the drive with Knoppix. Got the drive partitioned but then the ThinkVantage button stopped working.

I didn't have net access over the holidays so was flying blind - so I managed to get to the point of being able to run the factory restore option which I did.

Now back home I'm reading the forums and wondering if I screwed up? I was looking to create the install CD's and no longer see an option to do that?

I have run R&R and backed up everything to an external drive - including all the IBM* directories but can I still create a recovery disk?

Thanks, these forums are a great resource!

If you have run the factory restore option you should be able to make a set of recovery cd's now.

Thanks! For some reason I expected the option to be in the menu that pops up when I press the ThinkVantage button but last night I dug around and found it under the Start menu.

Tonight I'll pick up some CDs and make a set for safekeeping! :)
