Windows is not booting...
Help me please. I have a tp600. I had windows xp install on C:, then I want to install ubuntu on the partion D:. However the installation screwed up during the setup. I rebooted and all I got was the tiny dash thing flashing. I put in the windows xp cd, deleted the partions created by the ubuntu and now I get the no OS error message.

Sounds like you need to repair the MBR. I think there is a disk you can download from the IBM web site to repair it. If you installed XP from the CD you may have to do a reinstall.

Master Boot Record, when you install one of the Linux OS's it will write info to the MBR to allow you to determine which OS you want to boot to for Dual Boot purposes. If Ubuntu started loading then messed up somehow, possibly because you ran out of disc space or something it changed your MBR, or in your case corrupted it. Did you install XP over 98?

Try this if you have WinXP or Windows 2000 boot disk, it does not matter which since any Windows 2K or XP disk will work
Insert disk and boot
Go through F8 EULA and when prompted choose "Repair" install
Go into your Windows Install by Typing 1
Type admin password if you have one
At prompt, type "fixmbr" and follow the prompts.
Type exit when done to reboot into Windows.
