Why are these problems happening?

#1 Post by BoomAM » Sun Jan 22, 2006 3:34 pm

Hi.
Ive just spent the last hour researching what can & cant be disabled on boot of my Lappy, and managed to disable 4 startup items. But now, everytime i boot/login, the folder 'c:\program files\ibm\' opens. So i re-enabled the the programs, and it still happens.
I tryed a restore to before i did the changes, but windows wont let me, saying nothing has changed?
Theres nout in the registary startup or other startup areas that would cause the folder to open.
All of the 'solutions' that ive seen on a Google search dont work either/arnt applicable.

Also, the IBM System Update thing thats accessable from the ThinkVantage button, doesnt appear to be working right. Everytime i run it, it lists the same 'Keyboard Customiser Utility'.

Ideas?

NM about the folder issue. I found a novel/messy way to get rid of the problem.
The c:\program files\ibm\ folder had another folder in it called Java142, so i looked in A/R and found IBM Java 1.42, so i removed it, because i have Sun Java 1.5 installed, and the problem went away. :p
