What utility in W2000 Pro allows you to decide what runs in the background? :) and in case..........where is it?

Also a list of what has to run would also be helpful.............thanks

You can add the msconfig utility to Win2000, here:
http://www.techadvice.com/win2000/m/msconfig_w2k.htm

This will allow you to determine which items run at startup. (More info on the site)

There's also a tab for this. If you select My Computer and right click for Properties (or Alt + Enter) and select Advanced/Performance Options. There's an option for optimizing the performance of Applications or Background services.
