maintanance in windows
maintanance in windows
have been using mac os x but just switch back to windows. what maintanance work do i need to do in windows besides disk clean up and disk defragment to keep the machine running smoothly?

system file checker and scan disk every now and then. I also use system restore a lot, create restore points before making any serious software changes or additions. It can bail you out of a bad day.
Backup to another computer too, just in case.
And last but not least (for me) I never get to attached to an OS. If things start to act funny I back up and reinstall clean, used to do the hours and hours of troubleshooting and fixing, but why since you can restore in an hour or so I go that route. Not saying it is for everyone, so no flames please.
