AC 4.11a Location Switching

#1 Post by JWadle » Wed Feb 15, 2006 11:14 am

Since switching to Access Connections 4.11a it seems that the auto profile swicthing based on Ethernet ports (MAC addresses) no longer works.

Has anyone else had this problem or found a solution?

I was wondering if it was only me. I have this issue with 4.01. I do wireless on campus and then when I go back to my room i plug in the ethernet it doesn't react right away. Sometimes I have to go and click the profile and click connect. But worse when i am on wireless and move to another part of campus it moves to my at home profile. Never had that problem with 3.7

I've had something similar. If I'm at home on wireless, and I put the computer on hibernate, the next time I turn it on, it will never reconnect. It'll see the AP, but it just hangs when it's trying to get an IP address. Same thing when I go to school, and connect there. If I connect to the school network, then when I go home, it won't connect there.

I tried it out and it took a few seconds at finding the ethernet connection, but it hooked up just fine. I have also moved from a campus network to a home network many times with a seamless transition; funny though, I used to have a similar, but considerably less frequent, issue with AC 3.xx.

She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
