Finger print software problem on shutdown.

Hi.
For some reason, since an update i did the other day with the IBM software, every time i goto shutdown/restart, it just hangs with the blue background, with the enter finger print dialogue box. If i leave it for 10mins or so, it'll eventually throw up an error and then shutdown. Or if i click on cancel on the dialog box, it shutdowns properly as well.

Any ideas as to why its doing this and how i can fix it?
