Nortons and Lotus suite

#1 Post by davidjjohn » Fri Apr 14, 2006 2:08 am

Hello
Is it better to turn off nortons, if not on web? and is the free Lotus offer worth having - given that I already have works 2006 (word 20020)? do I need to keep firewall active if not on web - are there any reasons why I should turn off nortons and firewall if not connected to web?

Thanks

David

You would probably do just as well with AVG free (antivirus) and ZoneAlarm Free (firewall) as with Norton.

You ought to leave them on since it would be easy to forget when you go online; then you could have troubles.

If you have enough disk space and since the Lotus suite is free, give it a try. You can always uninstall it. You should also try Open Office, also free. Use them and see which you like the best.

I teach a SeniorNet course that is constructed around MSWorks. The spreadsheet is not very good at all; try opening a second spreadsheet document. Try the ones above; you may like them better.
