Clear Type

can see the difference it makes, but maybe I need to turn it down a bit- My only problem is that when scrolling through a list within windows, everything flying down the list seems so choppy, and I think smooth scrolling is ON...any idea?

Do you have the correct display drivers installed?

The only time that I tend to get the choppiness is when I first load an OS, before I install the proper display adapter drivers.

I routinely turn Smooth Scrolling OFF in Internet Explorer. I have never liked it, never really found it smooth, and in general am happier with it off.

Other than that, I have Clear Type set as default on my Laptop. There is a Clear Tweak tool available (search Microsoft Downloads) that I use on my Desktop Flat Panel to change the default contrast. That changes the appearance but not the scrolling issue.
