I'm having similar problems after running automatic updater. Now with CSS7 etc.

When I boot up I'm presented with a welcome screen which says 'Press Ctrl-Alt-Del or swipe your finger to log on'. If I swipe my finger then the message 'Failed' comes up. Windows then boots normally anyway and after boot up has finished I am again reqested to swipe finger, which I do, and get told 'succeeded'.

If, on the other hand, I do actually press Ctrl-Alt-Del a CSS User Identification screen is displayed followed by another message 'The requested operation requires fingerprint authentication, but you have no fingerprints enrolled. Please enroll fingerprints and retry the operation'. Despite this message windows then continues to start normally, again asks for a fingerprint and then accepts it.

I'm very confused. I can now operate my T42 without even entering a windows password let alone the fingerprint that I used to use as a logon. Guess I should be happy that the darn thing still boots at all.
