I think I am getting longer life on Vista!

#1 Post by pizzahut88 » Mon Jun 12, 2006 5:40 am

I am not sure, but I think I am getting an increase of about 20% battery life on Vista.

Anyone with similar experience?

Also when pluged-in, I think my Thinkpad's fan is running louder ton Vista then XP.

This constant hummm.

I don't know about that. I'm getting about the same as I expected in XP. Although I didn't time it down to the minute or anything. Also, in powersaver mode, the cpu fan seemed to be running an awful lot more than in XP, with lots of hot air coming out, so I expect much less battery life, especially with all the added graphics features.

wow, you mean Vista is running better than XP?
for longer battery life and less CPU usage, and cooler for all the time?

This wasn't true for me on my t42p, but on the other hand, i didn't have my voltages as low as they'd be in windows, and i'm not sure if the GPU drivers even knew how to use powerplay.

I'm going to wait for final/retail before I make this call

I heard that Win Vista consumes more battery b/c of higher graphics CPU requirements.

I also hear that your computer will be running much hotter.

I'm glad I bought Win XP.
