Vista Beta2 and X60

#1 Post by pdudas » Sun Jun 25, 2006 3:00 pm

Hi!

I managed to install the Vista Beta2 on my X60.
Everything works fine, except the Speedstep.

You have to install the Beta2.
Then You have to select the Intel Lakeport video driver from the previously installed driver cache.
After that the Aeroglass is working. (maybe you have to change the theme to aero)

I have atheros wlan card. I installed the driver from the wlanath folder from the XP partition. Working fine.
BT: after the pressing of FN-F5 the Vista installs the software automatically.

Unfortunately the speedstep is not working at all. Cpuid shows the processors runs on full speed.....

I tried to install Intel chipset driver, but not solved the problem.

Any comment?

Did you do the install as a fresh install, or as an additional Windows instance (i.e., with the ability to do a dual boot between XP and Vista)?

Also, how much RAM is your X60 configured with?
X60s (17044JU) - 2 GB RAM, Core-Duo, DVD multi-burner, 8-cell, Windows Vista
T61 - 4 GB RAM, DVD multi-burner, 8-cell, Windows Vista

I made a clean install on an empty partition after the XP partition.
It made me a dual boot system.
I have 1.5 GB ram.

It needs minimum 15gb free space, because the installed system is about 9GB (plus the hiberfil.sys and the swap file).
