Access Connections - Location Profiles

#1 Post by QuadWorker » Mon Jun 26, 2006 8:22 am

Is there a way to create a default profile, so when a user connects to a new wifi network, it will use that default profile?

Or alternatively, when a user creates a new profile I would like it to to have a predefined application to start automatically. Basically is there a way to preset the settings a profile has when a new one is being created?

Thanks

I don't know if you can create a default profile, but you can create a generic profile by typing "any" or "*" in the ssid textbox, and then having that profile on top in the automatic location switching list. It will then try to connect to the closest open accesspoint.

About the second question, what you can do is to create a template profile with that application added, and have the user copy that instead of creating a new profile. You would like to distribute that profile as "Deny changes/Deny deletion".

Hope this helps.
