Duplicate name on network

#1 Post by beeryf » Sat Jul 01, 2006 4:18 pm

my sister and i both bought t23's from the same online store (unintentionally).

when we connect to the wireless network that my mom has set up at her house i get an error message telling me that a duplicate name exists on the network, and that there is an ip conflict.

we have differrent OS's so i dont really understand.

Right click on My Computer and find the Network Identification or Computer Name tab. Look for the button appropriate for "renaming the computer."

Change the name of one or both computers, then reboot.
