Spaces between icon columns on the desktop

Does anyone notice that the spacing between the icon columns on the desktop is pretty large (on the default WindowXP install from lenovo)??

Does anyone know to fix this issue?

Control Panel -> Display -> Appearance -> 'Advanced' Button

Select "Icon Spacing (Horizontal)" from the dropdown list

What's the normal space value?

I think it's 43, that's what my desktop with XP Pro is at and I've never messed around with it.
