Access Connections Still Not Working?

#1 Post by JWadle » Fri Jul 07, 2006 9:42 pm

Just wondering if there is any new information on the AC problems below. It has been broken since v4.01.

-------------------------

I've just upgarded from AC4.11 to AC4.12 on my T43p, but the two problems I had with v4.11 are still there:

(1) Location switching does not recognize saved MAC addresses to select profiles automatically

(2) AC will not run my VPN as set up in the profiles. I have to run it manually.

These two features worked corectly in AC3.8x but not since v4.x.

Can anyone help?

Thanks - John

I got a new Z60T 2 weeks ago and the old profile switching was working fine with the version 3.8 AC that was installed. I then got round to running the System Update an upgraded to 4.12 and the switching stopped working.

I uninstalled v4.12 AC fine but then no matter what I tried I could not power on the WiFi card - tried the switch the Fn+F5 - control panel etc - but it just would not come on - the Wifi light stayed off.

I then tried to install AC v3.8 but it complained the it was incompatible with the installed WiFi driver. But the driver refused to uninstall - uinstall app would just sit there for over an hour - tried it twice!

In the end I restored the HD back to factory setting and re-ran System update etc but I have left the older v3.8 AC and older Wifi driver on and everything is working fine.

If you decide to downgrade - good luck and please post here if it works for you.

i actually ran into some problems with AC 4.12 after a restore and recovery on my T43p. I downgraded to the factory 3.8 version then upgrade it incrementally from 4.0 to 4.12 along with the drivers. after that it all works as it was before.

Can anyone provide a copy of AC 3.8? I would like to go back to that version but I no longer have the installer.

Thanks. I uninstalled AC v4.12 and just to be sure nothing was left over, I also removed all references to AC in the registry.

I then installed v3.82 and sure enough, the profile selection by Ethernet port detection and auto-start of VPN both work corrrectly.

Thanks again for the link to v3.82.
